A New Start

 A Fresh New Look

Over 5 months ago, I made my last blog post entry.  5 Months ago!  Where has that time gone?  Well, there's been lots going on at home and plenty of distractions keeping me away from my regular(ish) blog posts and to an extent, the hobby too.
Over the last year or so, I've thought long and hard about my blog.  Do I carry on with it?  Do I turn it into more of a website?  Do I change hosting platform?  I guess in the end, I was after a change and a refresh.  I was getting a bit bored of the old layout.  It was old, looked like something from the last century and just not what I wanted anymore.  After a bit of tinkering and playing about, here's the final result.  Welcome!  It's much cleaner, brighter and easier to read.  An all round better job I'm sure you agree.  So, it's out with the old and in with the new.

Bye bye old, dark and dismal.  Hello new, clean and bright.

And to kick off my blog revamp, what better way to do it than a brand new mini series.  You see, it's not only my blog that's got a fresh new look.  My imaging rig has also got a new look which has lead to a bunch of new learning and discovery.  In the 3 part series, I'll be starting part one by taking a look at what's new and the inspiration for it.  Part 2 will look at some of the new one time only set up I need to do.  Finally, in part 3, first light.  (A bit of a hint there 😏).
Part 1 will be up soon in which I will reveal where all this is going.  Until then, clear skies!

  1. Hi Tony, :-)

I like the new layout. Looking forward to some more posts!

I'm still doing a bit of astrophotography myself. I thought I would try some autoguiding. I've had one good session with it and one bad session so far. Time to read the PHD2 user guide I think.

    Regards, Jim

    1. Hey Jim!
Great to hear from you. I'm glad your still in the game so to speak! PHD2 is great once it's up and running. It took me a bit of time to get up and running, but now it's done, I rarely need to revisit it. It just works!
      Catch up soon,
      All the best,
      Tony
